It was first summited by the Swiss Expedition Team in 1960. This mountain name has derived from Sanskrit: Dhabals means white and Giri means mountain. At first, that mountain was mapped by one of the secret Indian surveyors, The Pundits in 1873. Dhaulagiri was the last successful mountain climbing above 8000 m in Nepal.
It is most dangerous mountain in Nepal; therefore, many people became victim in course of expedition. The climb followed a circuitous route around the mountain from tukuche , over Dhampus pass and follow the French Col to approach the summit.
