US$1600The fifth highest peak of the planet Mount Makalu (8468 m) is located eastern part of Nepal between Mount Everest and Mount Kanchenjunga Region and Makalu Base Camp Trek offers the wide variety of flora, fauna, pristine nature, distinct Rai and Limbu culture, majestic Mountain views and mountaineering activities. During this Makalu Base Camp Trek, there is not any fancy tea-house and restaurant like Annapurna and Everest so most of place you have to stay at tent and cook yourself from camp to camp but some place at the beginning of this trek, you can find normal tea-house and home-stay also. Moreover, this area is dominated by Rai and Limbu people and its culture where you can get chance to enjoy their culture and lifestyle mixing with them as like your family.
The Makalu Base Cam Trek starts from Tumlingtar after about 50 minutes fly or about 10 hours drive from Kathmandu passing through the beautiful scenery, terrific farmland,countless ups and down hill and various village. Two different size of bag is needed, one rucksack is given to potter putting trekking equipment and another small day bag is putting your most important things then carrying by yourself
Shoes: one waterproof light trekking boots, light jugging /sports shoes and flip flops / sandal for night and morning during guest house and micro crampoon or spike for shoes protect from sleeping during trek
Down jacket, fleece jacket, long thermal inner trouser, windproof over trouser, warm hat, sun hat, scarf, warm waterproof gloves, 4/5 pairs of socks & underwear, trekking poles.
