Langtang Ganja La Pass Trek is a technical and tough mountain pass in Nepal which is situated at the elevation of 5106m high in the northern part of Nepal. It is the best combination of amazing nature, intact Himalaya culture, tuff and technical adventurous journey and wide dirversity in various aspect. The Ganja La Pass Trek is open/ closed pass dependeing on weather condition so you must bring well mountaineering equipment with experience mountain guide to get success as well. It is one of the challangeing spectacular trekking pass in Himalaya.
Langtang Ganja La Pass Trekking start from Syprubesi after 7/8 hour drive from kathmandu passing through the various river valley, villages and landscape. From Syprubesi you follow all the traditional trail to Langtang Kyanjin Valley enjoying with different flora and fauna, culture, landscape and mountain view. You will spent over two nights in Kyanjin for acclimatized and enjoying the panoramic view of Himalaya from top of Tsrekuri (4984 m) or Kyngjiri (4700 m). After Kyanjin Valley you will spend over 3 nights at tent carrying with all nessery cooking and climbing gears and cross (5106 m) tuff pass to Helambu Sherpa Village. Around Ganjala Pass you can enjoy mesmerging view of Langtang Lirung (7225 m), Dorje Lhakpa(6966 m), Gauri Shanker(7134 m) Sishapangma (8013 m), Ganesh Himal, (7422 m) and Manaslu (8163 m), In the Halambu you are offered Helmo culture and their unique lifestyle. It is the best mixture of trek in Langtang National Park. From this trek you can experience the hardship and remote lifestyle even short time. It is nearist mountain trekking from Kathmandu as well. Airport pick up then transfer to hotel and breaffing about trek plan overnight hotel in Kathmandu
Kathmandu about 7 hour by bus/jeep to Syprubesi (1400 m) overnight at lodge, passing through terific traditional farmland, colourful town,following the Trishuli River until Syprubesi.
Syprubesi about 6 hour trek to Lamahotel (2430 m) overnight at neat and cleal mountain lodge. From Syprubesi you will turn to East following the Langtang Khola,enyoy with wide range of flora and fauna,landscape, waterfall and some mountain view untail Lama Hotel in the middle of forest by the riverside.
Lamahotel about 6 hour trek to Langtang village(3300 m) overnight at lodge, today also there are lof of pine and rhodendron forest, mountain view , couple teahouses until Ghode tabala then start open land with mountain view, yak pasture until Langtang village.
Langtang Village about 4 hour trek to Kyanjin Gumba (monastery) (3800 m) overnight at lodge today it is totally open vally without forest, hugh animal pasture and you can have spectacular mountain view until Kyanjin.
Acclimatized day with climbing Kyanjin Ri or Tserkuri for view then overnight again at Kyanjin, today you will climb Kyanjin Ri (3700 m) 0r Teskuri (4984 m high peak for Panoramic view of Himalaya without carrying big backpack. it is important for acclimatize for Ganjala pass. then afternoon you will return back to your lodge at Kyanjin.
Kyanjin about 4 hour trek to Nyengang Kharka (4435 m) overnight at tent, today you will trek to Nyengang open Yak meadows from where you can have 360degree panoramic view of Himaya and we spent night at tent before pass.
Nyengang about 7 hour trek pass over Ganjal La(5106 m) to Keldang (4270 m) overnight at tent, today you will leave tent around 4 am after hot breakfast to Kaldang after crossing (ganjala Pass) . This is the main target of the trek as well. During pass you have to use well treking and climbing gears like rope,Harness, good boots with cranpoons. after pass again we stay in the tent.
Keldang about 5 hour trek to Dukpu (4040 m) overnight at tent, today you trek through oper pasture rucky trail enjoy the view withour forest and stay in the tent.
Dukpu about 5 hour trek to Tarkeghyang (2600 m) overnight at lodge, you all the way to decent to Tarkeghyng Helambu village,where you can enjoy with Helmo Sherpa cultur, language and mountain view as well.
Tarkeghyang about 7 hour by bus to Kathmandu (1350 m) overnight at hotel, from here we get local bus to Kathmandu.
Ganja La pass is a open/closed icey tuff pass which requre some climbing gears and ideas. It is not open all the time of the year due to snow cover.Stptember /october and May/June is the best time for ganja La Pass.
We have to bring climbing rope, Harness set, Ice axe, good boot with crampons, tent and cooking gears for Ganja La pass trek.
Until langtang Valley there are lots of trekking standred teahouse with net and clean room andfancy menu mixture of food. But during Gangala Pass until Helambu there is no lodge and food so about 3 nights we have to spend in the tent and cook by yourself. So for pass we have to carry all the necessary gears from Kathmandu.
One sharing potter is provided for two guest who carry 20 to 25 kg in the high altitudes during the Langtang Ganja- La Pass Trek. If one guest need a guide and potter then we provude one person who works both job guiding and carring in same budget and he can carry 10 to 12 Kg backpack of the guest. if guest demand seprate guide and potter both then need extra payment.
During The Langtang Ganja- La Pass Trek, normally you need two type of bags. One smal personal bag is carrying by yourself putting your important things like; passport, money, mobile etc and another big bag is giving to potter putting necessary trekking gears. which is maximum 10 to 12 kg of each person.
You need good trekking boots, light shoes or sandal, Down Jacket, Sleeping Bag, Wind Proof Jacket and Trousers, Some inner T-short and Trousers, Trekking Poles, Sunglasses, Sun Cream, Water Bottel, Water drop, and some general medicine are necessary things for in Langtang Ganja- La Pass Trek in Langtang Himalaya Region of Nepal.
Altitude sickness is medical condition that can happen when you get rapid altitude gain then there is imbalance between atmospheric pressure and blood pressure. We get less amount of Oxygen when breath than lower altitude then our body get trouble to adjust in this altitude and this is called High Altitude Sickness. Headache, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, dizziness are the common symptoms of high altitude sickness that is call (AMS) and getting seriously worsen call (HAPE) and (HACE) which can be life threatening as well, if we do careless. Recognizing symptoms in time and descending to lower elevation is the key of the solution. Generally above 3000 m people start to feel altitude sickness so we should drink more and walk slow.
You should follow and respect all cultural rule while doing trekking in the mountain.
You shouls take permission before take picture of local people, cultural place and ceramoney, alwyas walk clockwise while walking in the temple and monastery, take up shoes before enter temple and local house, don't give money and cholacte to children without permission during trekking.
During the Langtang Ganja- La Pass Trek, you should better to have vegeterain food because all meet suply from lower part by potter which has already affected by virus and bacteria so it is not really hygiene, eat at same tourist guest house, not in local place and drink safety and mineral water and stop alcohal until complet trek and bring some emergency dry food as well.
During Ganjala Pass Trek you need to bring power bank or small slower panael for during Ganjala Pass and until Langtang Valley , there is electricity so you can charge and hot shower but they use gas geyser, boild water cost money but you can use it.
