Annapurna region is located in the Midwestern part of Nepal, which is the first and largest conservation area in Nepal. The Annapurna Conservation area was established in 1986 under the guidance of the King Mahendra Trust for Nature. The entire Conservation Area is covered with 7629 sq. m and it is the home of 13 mountains higher than 7000 me and 1 higher than 8000 me and wide variety of flora and fauna. There are 3 main trekking trails and so many sub trails so about 1/3 tourist visit in Annapurna Region of the total tourist of Nepal.
Inside the conservation area, you can explore various ethnic peoples such as the Gurung, Thakali, Pun Magar as well as their colorful cultures and lifestyles. You can also experience the harmonious beauty of the diverse culture and religious faiths such as the Muktinath, which is essential for both Hindus and Buddhists.
The lake is in the highest place (Tilicho Tal) and the deepest gorge in the world (Dana). They are really impressive places and offers different attraction. It is covered with lot of higher peaks such as Annapurna 1, 2, 3, 4 and Annapurna South, Fishtail, Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri along with beautiful valleys such as Manang, Jomsom, Pokhara and the famous pass, Thorong-la, which adds additional wonderment.
There are also wide variety of flora and fauna such as pines, hazel, rhododendrons, Laliguras (the national flower) and different type of animals such as snow leopards, bears, languor, deer. There are different types of peasants such as the Danphe (national bird) and the golden eagle as well as a rich variety of butterflies, raw, herbal materials and natural hot springs, which are the main attraction in this region.
